The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are an excellent choice for those looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. Some models have superior navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

    The Eufy S1 Pro

If you’re looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model you should go for. It’s smaller than the other options which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I’ve ever seen in a robot vacuum. It’s got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through cleaning.

It’s fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one motion. The motor’s 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I’ve noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when you’re trying to get into narrow corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I’ve tried. It is quieter and doesn’t produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It’s easy to install and performs well however, this is something that you’ll have to keep an eye on in case you’re purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

    The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. These include corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also alter the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can move through your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it comes with a large selection of innovative features. It’s important to keep in mind that it has periodic costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every three month.

This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. This includes a power button that doubles as a general ‘Clean’ button and a ‘Home button that will take it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

    The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated however, they mean that you don’t need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create ‘No-Go Zones’ or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to collect some of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some nice jingles that indicated when it was starting or finished its work.

The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can’t hold multiple maps, which can be a problem if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.

    The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our test, but it comes with some distinctive features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock’s automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle a child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a “stuck status” alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni’s inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You’ll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn’t that bad but the mopping pad doesn’t get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It’s a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it’s an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
